Agreement is part of a $2 billion investment bolstering America’s domestic electricity transmission supply chain.

Equipment for America’s largest power grid infrastructure project will support local jobs, thanks to new details announced today of a supply agreement between Centralia’s largest employer, Hubbell and Invenergy, America’s largest privately held independent power producer and the developer of the Grain Belt Express transmission line serving Missouri. This supply order represents approximately $70 million of the $2 billion in total domestic investment from Grain Belt Express Phase 1, including both the direct material and equipment cost plus distribution and labor costs associated with this agreement.

This agreement will continue to support American jobs across its facilities in Centralia, MO, Leeds, AL, and Aiken, SC.

“Grain Belt Express is a trifecta win for our region, because it will create jobs, support Missouri-based manufacturing and attract millions in economic investment,” said Neil Vandermeulen, Hubbell, Division President for T&D Infrastructure. “This investment will enhance our manufacturing capacity across the country, strengthening the domestic supply chain needed to support our nation’s critical grid infrastructure. The success of our partnership with Invenergy demonstrates a shared commitment to retaining and creating U.S. manufacturing jobs.”

The components distributed locally will serve Invenergy’s Grain Belt Express transmission line. Order details were announced today as Phase 1 of Grain Belt Express advances towards start of full construction as soon as early 2026.

“Grain Belt Express is the highest capacity transmission line in the U.S. and the longest line the U.S. has built in over 50 years, making this domestic supply agreement among the largest of its kind in the industry. The products made by Hubbell and distributed out of Centralia will ensure a more reliable, resilient energy grid at a time of unprecedented demand,” said Shashank Sane, Invenergy Executive Vice President for Transmission.

Besides this supply agreement, families and small businesses in Centralia will also benefit from being one of the 39 Missouri communities that have contracted to take power from Grain Belt Express, at an annual cost savings of more than $12 million per year for these Missouri municipalities. Nearby communities that will also realize these savings include Columbia, Fayette, Monroe City, Hannibal, Vandalia and Macon.

This investment follows Invenergy’s prior domestic supply agreement with Prysmian North America that is supporting a 50,000 square foot factory expansion already underway in Williamsport, PA that will double U.S. manufacturing capacity for certain advanced transmission conductors. Conductors - or the metallic lines that electricity travels along to power our energy grid - are a critical technology for the reliability and resilience of the U.S. power grid.

Invenergy and Hubbell Announce Supply Chain Agreement Partnership, Supporting Local Jobs and US Infrastructure

 -- Meta Platforms, Inc (Nasdaq: META) announced it has signed four contracts with Chicago-based energy owner, operator and developer, Invenergy, for 760 megawatts of clean energy. These new Environmental Attribute Purchase agreements (EAPAs) bring Meta's total clean energy procurement from Invenergy to over 1 gigawatt.

El Sol Energy Storage Center increases Invenergy’s Arizona storage portfolio to nearly 200 MW

August 29, 2024 – Invenergy, the leading privately-held developer, owner, and operator of sustainable energy solutions, announced completion of the El Sol Energy Storage Center (50 MW), marking its 10th battery energy storage project in Arizona to reach commercial operations since the start of 2023. Notably, Invenergy’s project portfolio accounts for nearly half of all storage facilities to come online in the Grand Canyon State during that same timeframe.

These dual milestones were achieved less than six months since the start of production—a testament to the

Invenergy, Verizon partner to procure over 1 GW in renewable energy

Power Purchase Agreements Signed with Automotive Giants Honda and Tesla

TEXAS (February 13, 2025) – Invenergy, the largest privately-held developer, owner, and operator of clean energy solutions, announced that commercial operations has commenced at the 300 MW Delilah I Solar Energy Center (Delilah 1) in Lamar and Red River Counties, Texas. WEC Energy Group is the majority owner of Delilah I. 

The energy generated from Delilah I Solar will be purchased by Honda Motor Co., LTD (200 MW) and Tesla (100 MW) through virtual power purchase agreements (VPPAs) and be delivered to the local grid. Both Honda and Tesla’s commitment brings new generation capacity online in Texas and demonstrates a dedication to lower emissions and support energy diversification in the United States.

Invenergy-Developed Delilah I Solar Reaches Commercial Operations in Texas

Invenergy, the largest privately held developer, owner, and operator of clean energy solutions, recently closed on a $1.1 billion debt financing facility for three solar projects in Ohio, Indiana, and Tennessee. The debt financing includes a Construction/Bridge Loan Facility and a Letter of Credit Facility. 

This financing applies to three of Invenergy’s utility-scale solar projects in construction – Cadence Solar Energy Center (240 MW, OH), Trade Post Solar Energy Center (200 MW, IN) and Yum Yum Solar Energy Center (150 MW, TN). Together, these projects will generate 590 megawatts of power once operational in 2026 and bring significant economic benefits to their local communities, including construction jobs and more than $390 million in taxes and landowner payments throughout the projects' lifespans.

150 Megawatts of Clean Energy Comes Online in Hardin County, Ohio

January 7, 2025 – Invenergy, the leading privately

Richfield Solar marks another milestone in Maryland’s pursuit of 50% renewable energy by 2030, reinforcing the state’s leadership in the national transition to clean energy. 

The clean energy generated from Richfield Solar will be purchased by Verizon through a virtual power purchase agreement (VPPA). Invenergy, along with Verizon and M&T Bank, the project finance partner, celebrated commercial operations at Richfield Solar during a ribbon cutting ceremony.

Invenergy Announces Commercial Operations at Richfield Solar Energy Center in Maryland

Cimarron Link will improve grid reliability and affordability in Oklahoma while driving economic development and community benefits across the state

The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) announced Thursday that Invenergy’s Cimarron Link transmission project has been selected to enter award negotiations for a $306 million capacity contract as part of 

Cimarron Link is a High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) transmission project that will deliver new renewable energy supply from the Oklahoma Panhandle to rapidly growing load centers in eastern Oklahoma. This project will transmit 1,900 megawatts (MW) of energy capacity, equivalent to the size of two new nuclear power plants. The project will support energy price competitiveness and stability for Oklahoma consumers, bolster reliability, and strengthen long-term energy security in the region. 

“The selection of Cimarron Link to enter award negotiations through the Transmission Facilitation Program is an important step to deliver Oklahoma power, benefitting Oklahoma families,” said Shashank Sane, Executive Vice President and Head of Transmission at Invenergy. “The strong support for this project at the local, state, and national level reflects the critical need this grid investment serves for Oklahoma, as it will enable the construction of energy infrastructure that the Panhandle has long sought.” 

“Oklahoma’s welcoming business climate has created an increase in new and existing manufacturers looking to locate or relocate, but without projects like Cimarron Link, Oklahoma will not be able to bring this business diversity and economic vitality to the state,” said Ken McQueen, Oklahoma Secretary of Energy & Environment.  

Cimarron Link will generate more than 3,600 construction jobs and more than 20 permanent jobs once the project is operational. Additionally, as part of its capacity contract application, Cimarron Link presented a Community Benefits Plan to invest an additional $10 million in Oklahoma communities. This investment will enable local, Tribal, and disadvantaged communities to access jobs, workforce development opportunities, career pathways in renewable energy, and contracting opportunities for minority and disadvantaged business enterprises while also enhancing the state’s wildfire mitigation capabilities. 

“Rarely does an infrastructure project provide so many tangible benefits to so many counties and citizens across one state,” said Oklahoma Senator Casey Murdock. “In addition to the direct benefits Cimarron Link will bring to landowners, schools, and county services, our state will benefit exponentially from the $10 million investment in our local communities.” 

Over the last two years, Cimarron Link has engaged landowners and other community members to seek input on project routing and other considerations. By working with landowners to negotiate easement agreements, Cimarron Link has now acquired over half of the rights-of-way for the project. Cimarron Link has also invested in communities by sponsoring local events and organizations, and by developing a Cimarron Link high school scholarship and community grant program. 

High Plains Technology Center stated in its letter of support, “Our number one focus is returning people to our communities while providing technical trades training that can provide meaningful income and opportunity for the people of our area. High Plains will continue to expand (our) programs to support the growth in workforce needs created by Invenergy’s investment and resulting from the Cimarron Link project.” 

The Oklahoma Manufacturing Alliance stated in its letter of support, “In addition to addressing critical infrastructure needs, the Cimarron Link project will improve the lives of local communities by providing good paying jobs and workforce development opportunities.” 

Funded through the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, the Transmission Facilitation Program (TFP) is a $2.5 billion revolving fund that will provide transmission developers with financial assistance to help develop transmission infrastructure. The Transmission Facilitation Program is not associated with the National Interest Electric Transmission Corridor (NIETC) Designation Process or the preliminary designation of the Delta-Plains Corridor. 

TFP award contracts are expected to be finalized in January 2025.

Invenergy’s Cimarron Link transmission project selected for $306 million in federal financing support

The 63-megawatt Rusutsu Wind agreement is the largest in the Hokkaido Prefecture and Honda Group’s second power purchase agreement with Invenergy

 - Invenergy, the leading privately held developer, owner, and operator of sustainable energy solutions, today announced a landmark virtual power purchase agreement (VPPA) between Honda Motor Co., Ltd. (Honda) and Rusutsu Wind for 63-megawatts (MW) of clean energy. The power generated from the 

 in the Hokkaido prefecture will offset 64,000 tons of carbon emissions annually. This agreement represents the largest corporate VPPA in the region.  

The Rusutsu VPPA follows Invenergy’s 200-MW offtake agreement with a group company of Honda in North America at a phase of the Samson Solar Energy Center in the United States – which will be one of the largest solar energy centers in the western hemisphere when completed.

Invenergy Signs Virtual Power Purchase Agreement with Honda in Japan

Entergy’s fourth solar facility and Invenergy’s first developed project in Arkansas generates enough electricity to power 61,000 Arkansas Homes

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. -- Adding to its growing fleet of utility-scale solar generating facilities, Entergy Arkansas has announced the start of commercial operations at Walnut Bend Solar Energy Center. The 100-megawatt solar energy center is located in Lee County to the east of Brinkley, Arkansas. Entergy Arkansas acquired Walnut Bend from Invenergy, a leading privately held developer, owner, and operator of sustainable energy solutions. Invenergy led the development, engineering, and construction of the facility.

“Walnut Bend will be a valuable addition to our generation fleet, which, in turn, complements our diverse mix of generation sources that have been powering life in Arkansas for more than 100 years,” said Entergy Arkansas President and CEO Laura Landreaux. “Our investments in these generation resources are a key part of keeping the rates our customers pay below the regional and national averages and enables us to provide reliable, affordable, and sustainable service to our customers throughout the state.”
