Raising industry standards: Invenergy’s new Center of Excellence

by Invenergy

As energy demand grows, keeping energy centers operating safely and delivering electricity to American homes and businesses is more important than ever.
At Invenergy Services, we take this responsibility very seriously. We manage more than 20,000 megawatts of energy centers, operating each site with an owner’s mindset: managing Invenergy-owned and our customers’ energy centers with safety as principle and efficiency as our foundation.
“We’re constantly working to optimize the performance of Invenergy-owned energy centers and of those we operate for our customers,” says Steve Dowdy, an Invenergy executive vice president and operating business leader.
The new Center of Excellence doubles down on Invenergy’s owner’s mindset. It’s a state-of-the-art facility that brings four crucial business functions under one roof, which is a first for the industry.
  • The central machine shop, an industry-leading on-site repair and refurbishment shop.
  • The parts warehouse and distribution facility, which complements project site inventory and offers customers on-demand parts availability and limits downtimes.
  • A training facility for new and current Invenergy Services technicians to participate in hands-on and classroom training.
  • A 24/7 Generation Control Center to monitor the energy centers under our management.
We’re setting a new industry standard with the Center of Excellence, bringing benefits to both the energy centers we own and operate and for the customers we serve. The parts warehouse and distribution facility will transform how we strengthen supply chain needs and reduce dependence on foreign entities as we drive American energy independence. The central machine shop will help optimize operations with an integrated approach that reduces lengthy disruptions or downtime when parts are needed.
“The Center of Excellence is a one-stop-shop that trains the next-generation workforce and expands our core capabilities as we all strive to meet unprecedented energy demand,” Dowdy continued.
We’re not just maintaining and operating energy centers—we're optimizing their performance and ensuring we have the next generation workforce ready to meet growing demand.
