Celebrating the Launch of Out in Energy, a Network for LGBTQ+ Professionals in the Energy Sector

Likewise, at Invenergy, we take great pride in the innovative spirit that has made us a leader in the energy space. Being a leader also means advancing the industry to be a more inclusive and welcoming place for all our colleagues.
Invenergy+, Invenergy’s employee affinity group for LGBTQ+ employees and their allies, is proud to announce its co-sponsorship of Out in Energy, a professional network for LGBTQ+ individuals in the sustainable energy industry.
Hosted by The Atlantic Council, a nonpartisan think tank dedicated to US leadership and engagement in international affairs, Out in Energy serves as a community development and visibility incubator for LGBTQ+ professionals working in the energy and climate sectors in the United States. The goal is to elevate the voices of LGBTQ+ energy and climate leaders, support the career development of younger LGBTQ+ professionals, and connect LGBTQ+ job seekers with businesses and government agencies that interest them professionally.
Discrimination against LGBTQ+ employees has historically disadvantaged a large percentage of the workforce and has minimized opportunities for LGBTQ+ people in many fields. While addressing inequities for LGBTQ+ individuals in the professional world is complex and multi-dimensional, we are hopeful that this partnership serves as a significant step forward in building a stronger and safer community within the energy industry and at Invenergy.
