FORT COLLINS, Colorado and CHICAGO, Illinois (November 6, 2014) – Today, Platte River PowerAuthority ("Platte River") and Invenergy Wind LLC (“Invenergy”) announced thecommencement of commercial operations at Invenergy’s 32.5 MW Spring Canyon II EnergyCenter (Spring Canyon II) in northeast Colorado. Located near the Town of Peetz, approximately130 miles northeast of Fort Collins, Spring Canyon II utilizes 19 General Electric (GE) 1.7-100 windturbines.
Output from Spring Canyon II is sold to Platte River under a long-term agreement. In addition,Platte River will purchase 27.5 MW of wind power to be generated at the Spring Canyon IIIEnergy Center (Spring Canyon III), which currently is under construction. Spring Canyon III willutilize 16 GE wind turbines and is scheduled to begin commercial operations by the end of thisyear.
