TOKYO and CHICAGO (July 2, 2013) – Invenergy LLC, a Chicago-based leading clean energy generation company, and EastEdge Energy G.K., a solar and wind power development company in Japan, announced today the formation of Invenergy EastEdge GK, a strategic joint venture focused on renewable energy generation in Japan.
The announcement comes as Japan seeks additional renewable energy resources directed at greater energy independence. The country offers good solar and wind resources, a favorable investment climate, and public support for renewables.

In building a foundation in Japan, the venture will seek to partner with large property owners and local governments interested in utilizing all, or a portion of, their land to host solar or wind facilities. In turn, such project participation will provide landowners and local communities with an additional, diversified source of income and jobs.
