CHICAGO (Nov. 12, 2015) – Invenergy Wind LLC (“Invenergy”) announced today the completion of construction and the start of commercial operation of its 37.5 MW Gorzyca Wind Farm (“Gorzyca”) in Darlowo and Malechowo, Poland. Gorzyca was constructed with joint venture partner Enerco spółka z o. o. sp. k. (“Enerco”).

Gorzyca is located approximately 16 kilometers from the Baltic Sea near the towns of Darlowo and Malechowo, which is approximately 482 kilometers northwest of Warsaw and features15 GE 2.5 XLE wind turbines.

Gorzyca will benefit its host community by providing a number of local jobs as well as tax revenue to local governments. The energy center will also help in achieving the binding Poland Renewable Energy Standard target of 20 percent by 2021 as set forth in the 2009 European Union (“EU”) climate and energy package.

“We’re very pleased to finalize construction of the Gorzyca Wind Farm as it brings us closer to the overall completion of our Darlowo Energy Center,” said Jim Shield, Chief Development Officer at Invenergy. “Poland offers tremendous resources and we’re looking forward to providing our customers in the area reliable and clean energy while building a positive, long-lasting relationship with our host communities.”

Invenergy and Enerco co-own 11 wind farms in Poland with a total operating capacity of 321 MW. The 11th project, the Ustka Wind Farm, is currently under construction and expected to be operational in later this month.
