Invenergy LLC, a closely held U.S. renewable-power developer, and local company Enercoarranged financing for a 24-megawatt wind farm that’s under construction in Poland.
The Porzecze project, about 280 miles (450 kilometers) northwest of Warsaw, uses 16 1.5-megawatt turbines from General Electric Co. and will be operational early next year, Chicago-based Invenergy said in a statement. Terms weren’t disclosed.
Invenergy and Enerco co-own eight other wind farms in Poland with a total capacity of 227.5megawatts and are building a 10th, expected to be finished in 2014, according to the Dec. 3statement.
Poland is seeking to produce 15 percent of its power from renewable sources by 2020 to meetEuropean Union mandates.
