Invenergy Announces Sale of Highland Wind Energy Project

CHICAGO, Illinois - (November 15, 2013) – Invenergy Wind LLC (“Invenergy”) todayannounced the transfer of ownership of its Highland Wind Energy Project (“Highland”) toMidAmerican Energy Company. The 500 MW project, which now is in construction inIowa, will feature approximately 214 Siemens wind turbines.
Highland is located near the town of Primghar in O’Brien County, approximately 70miles northeast of Sioux City. Commercial operations are expected to commence in2015. The facility will produce clean, renewable energy for Iowa, which ranks thirdamong all states in installed wind power generation capacity.
“Invenergy is pleased to reach this agreement with MidAmerican Energy, as Iowacontinues its growth as a renewable energy leader,” said Jim Shield, Chief DevelopmentOfficer at Invenergy. “We’re proud to be developing this wind project in O’Brien County,which will bring tremendous economic benefit to the local area. And so we look forwardto continuing to work with the community as we transition the project to MidAmericanEnergy, which is building Highland, and will own and operate it.”
