CHICAGO (Sept. 11, 2015) – Invenergy Clean Power LLC (“Invenergy”) today announcedthe start of service for its 330 MW Ector County Energy Center, a natural gas-fired power generationplant in Texas’s Permian Basin.
The facility features two GE 7FA simple-cycle combustion turbines that are designed to providepeaking energy and respond quickly at times when additional power supply is required to meetdemand. It is located in unincorporated Ector County near the Ector-Andrews County line,approximately 20 miles northwest of Odessa and seven miles northeast of Goldsmith, and connectsto the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (“ERCOT”) 138kV Holt Switching Station of the OncorElectric transmission system.
Project construction began in November of 2014, and employed approximately 300 workers at the peak of construction activity. The Ector County Energy Center will employ a full-time staff of sevenemployees. In all, the facility will contribute more than $2 million annually to the local economy instaff salaries and the purchase of local goods and services. In addition, the project will contribute tens of millions of dollars in tax revenue over the 30 year plus life of the project.

With the addition of the Ector County Energy Center, Invenergy now has an operating natural gasproject portfolio of more than 3,100 MW, with facilities in Colorado, Florida, Illinois, Minnesota, Texas,Washington State, and Ontario, Canada.
