Invenergy Celebrates Official Opening of Ector County Energy Center

Employees and local officials conduct ribbon-cutting ceremony,tour and luncheon to mark occasion
CHICAGO (Nov. 5, 2015) – Leading clean energy company Invenergy LLC (“Invenergy”) onWednesday held a ribbon-cutting ceremony at its 330 MW Ector County Energy Center, a naturalgas-fired power generation plant in Texas’s Permian Basin.
Invenergy employees and several members of the community gathered for the ceremony, tourand lunch to officially mark the opening of the facility.
The facility, which began construction in November 2014 and started service this September,features two GE 7FA simple-cycle combustion turbines that are designed to provide peakingenergy and respond quickly at times when additional power supply is required to meet demand.It is located in unincorporated Ector County near the Ector-Andrews County line, approximately20 miles northwest of Odessa and seven miles northeast of Goldsmith, and connects to theElectric Reliability Council of Texas (“ERCOT”) 138kV Holt Switching Station of the OncorElectric transmission system.
The Ector County Energy Center employs a full-time staff of seven employees. In all, the facilitywill contribute more than $2 million annually to the local economy in staff salaries and thepurchase of local goods and services. In addition, the project will contribute tens of millions ofdollars in tax revenue over the 30 year plus life of the project.
With the addition of the Ector County Energy Center, Invenergy now has an operating naturalgas project portfolio of more than 3,100MW, with facilities in Colorado, Florida, Illinois,Minnesota, Texas, Washington State, and Ontario, Canada.
