INVENERGY COMPLETES CONSTRUCTION OF WEST VIRGINIA WIND FARM

CHICAGO, IL – September 28, 2010 – Leading renewable energy company Invenergy Wind LLC today announced the completion of construction of its Greenbrier County, W.V. Beech Ridge Wind Farm, bringing 100.5 MW of clean energy to homes and businesses across West Virginia.
Beech Ridge Energy LLC, an affiliate of Invenergy Wind LLC, is selling the output from the 100.5 MW project to the Appalachian Power Company, a subsidiary of American Electric Power, under a 20-year power purchase agreement. White Construction and Aldridge Electric constructed the project, which consists of 67 General Electric 1.5MW SLE wind turbines. Beech Ridge represents the 19th wind farm developed by Invenergy to utilize GE wind turbines.
“We are very pleased to have completed construction of our first project in West Virginia,” said Michael Polsky, Invenergy’s President and CEO. “The Beech Ridge Wind Farm, built and operated by West Virginia workers, will provide emission free, renewable electricity to Appalachian Power’s customers in West Virginia and neighboring states. We are hopeful that we can build additional projects in West Virginia and look forward to continued development of renewable electricity in the state.”
“This was a great project for our local construction workers,” said Steve White of the Affiliated Construction Trades. “Local workers needed the good paying jobs and are proud to be part of the green economy and such a top quality project.”
