Invenergy Expands Public Affairs Team With Three Clean Energy Veterans

CHICAGO (August 8, 2023) – Invenergy, the leading privately-held developer, owner, and operator of sustainable energy solutions, today announced three veteran clean energy professionals have joined its growing Public Affairs team. The new hires include:


  • Carol Roos, Senior Vice President, Corporate Affairs and Brand

  • Andrew Wills, Senior Vice President, Federal Affairs

  • Erin Grizard, Vice President, Government Affairs for California

“Carol, Andrew, and Erin are each highly accomplished professionals, and I’m pleased they’ll bring their expertise to Invenergy to support expansion of our operations in the U.S. and globally,” said Kelly Speakes-Backman, Executive Vice President, Public Affairs at Invenergy. “These talented professionals and the excellent teams they lead will be critical to Invenergy’s continued growth.”
Carol Roos is a corporate reputation expert who most recently served as a Partner at Brunswick Group, where she co-led the firm’s U.S. Energy and Resources practice. As Senior Vice President, Corporate Affairs and Brand, Roos will lead the Communications and Marketing teams responsible for shaping and executing Invenergy’s global narrative strategy.
As Senior Vice President, Federal Affairs, Andrew Wills will lead Invenergy’s Federal Affairs team supporting the development of key policy positions, conducting federal, congressional and administration advocacy activities, and driving federal policy development. Wills will be returning to Invenergy after spending over a year as the Chief of Staff for the Cyber Security, Energy Security, and Emergency Response (CESER) Office at the U.S. Department of Energy. Earlier in his career, he served as Government Relations Director and Counsel at the American Public Power Association (APPA) and Associate Counsel at the North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC).
Erin Grizard joins Invenergy after more than two decades working at the intersection of energy and environmental government affairs. Grizard most recently led government affairs for cleantech companies Newlight Technologies and Bloom Energy, and previously served as Deputy Director at the California Public Utilities Commission. As Vice President, Government Affairs for California, Grizard will lead Invenergy’s advocacy efforts in the Golden State across all business lines. Notably, she will be a leading voice on Even Keel Wind, Invenergy’s offshore wind project located off the Central Coast of California.
