Contracts with General Electric for 1,200 MW
CHICAGO – May 1, 2007 -- Invenergy Wind LLC announced that it has contracts with General Electric Company (“GE”) to purchase an additional 600 MW of wind turbinesfor use in projects slated for construction in 2008. Along with Invenergy’s previouslyannounced purchase of 600 MW for 2007 from GE, this provides 1,200 MW of windturbines for Invenergy’s 2007 and 2008 build program in North America. These turbinesare slated for Invenergy’s projects in the US and Canada.
Over the past three years, Invenergy has developed and constructed more than 680 MW of wind energy facilities with capital costs of $1.1 billion. This includes projects inColorado, Montana, Idaho, Tennessee, Iowa, Oklahoma, Texas and Invenergy’s firstEuropean project, the 50 MW Tymien project in Poland which went into commercialoperation in 2006.
Wind energy projects completed by Invenergy in North America and Europe to date areexpected to generate more than two billion kilowatt hours of electricity per year withclean and renewable generation technology.
