Invenergy to Provide Clean Power to Owens Corning

Leading Renewable Energy Producer Partners with Owens Corning to ReduceEmissions Through Wind Power
CHICAGO (Nov. 13, 2015) – Invenergy today announced that it has signed a 125 MW windpower purchase agreement (PPA) with Owens Corning (NYSE: OC) to provide the insulation,roofing, and fiberglass manufacturer with renewable energy supporting their new corporatesustainability goals.
As a signatory to the American Business Act on Climate Pledge, Invenergy is dedicated not onlyto meeting its own sustainability goals, but to helping its corporate customers achieve their goals.Invenergy is also a founding member of Rocky Mountain Institute’s Business Renewables Center,which is a collaborative platform aimed at accelerating corporate renewable energy procurement.
“Over the last few years there has been a seismic shift in the way corporate customers like OwensCorning have thought about the value proposition of renewable energy. Not only is it good for theenvironment, it’s good for the bottom line,” said Invenergy’s Vice President of Sales and MarketingCraig Gordon. “By acting now, these customers are taking advantage of extremely competitivelong-term wind energy pricing, as well as facilitating the transition to a sustainable and cleanenergy economy.”
Last month Owens Corning announced more ambitious goals to reduce greenhouse gas and toxicair emissions as well as new renewable energy initiatives that will continue to expand thecompany’s impact through sustainability.
When complete, Invenergy’s Wake Wind Energy Facility, located in Texas, will provide OwensCorning with an equivalent amount of carbon-free electricity as would be used to power more than32,000 U.S. homes per year. The agreement will also help Owens Corning support the wind powerindustry, a market to which the company supplies high performance glass fiber reinforcementsfor wind turbine blades.
