Quebec's Largest Wind Farm Brought Online

Invenergy Wind LLC says it has completed construction and started the commercial operation of its Le Plateau Wind energy project in Quebec.
At 138.6 MW, Le Plateau is currently Quebec's largest wind energy project and produces enough renewable energy to power more than 45,000 homes, according to Invenergy.
The wind farm, which consists of 60 ENERCON E-70 wind turbines, is located in the Ruisseau-Ferguson unorganized territory in the MRC d’Avignon, near the village of l’Ascension-de-Patapedia. The project has a 20-year power supply contract with Hydro-Quebec and is connected to the Hydro-Quebec TransEnergie transmission grid.
The 23 MW Le Plateau 2 Community Wind Energy project, an expansion of Le Plateau, is scheduled to commence commercial operation in 2013.
